　　本剧改编自慎结的漫画，描写了贴近滞纳者“钱与心”的征税吏员在工作中又哭又笑、惊心动魄的身姿。主人公飨庭苍一郎是在市厅纳税科工作的公务员，乍一看是轻浮脱力的那派，但工作技能却是超一流的职员。虽然是公务员，但不拘谨，凭第一印象谁都喜欢。他拥有丰富的税收知识、准确把握状况的观察力、天生的沟通能力，善于让对方放松警惕，并将其收入囊中。虽然有着原财务省官员的华丽经历，但辞去财务省职务成为征税吏员是有理由的……

　　追求刺激、年轻贪玩的方履安（黄宗泽饰）在一次事故中，被消防队队长钟有成（王喜饰）救起。经此一役，履安不仅视有成为救命恩人，更对有成的胆色及身手崇拜不已，决心投考消防员。有成的患难好兄弟卓柏宇（郑嘉颖饰）性格吊儿郎当，邂逅单纯美丽的九龙城消防局大写高惠盈（胡杏儿饰）。然而出生入死的两兄弟居然同时爱上了惠盈，柏宇为了珍惜二人的友谊，将对惠盈的感情深埋心底，却被履安指责横刀夺爱。三人陷入苦恋中。
　　《烈火雄心》系列电视剧是香港无线电视（TVB）制作的一档以消防员故事为题材的电视剧，不仅刻画了消防员们在事故现场的出生入死，也描写了消防员们平日生活中的悲酸苦乐。本系列电视剧由香港女导演王心慰监制执导。在《烈火雄心3》中，众多TVB知名演员郑嘉颖、王喜、黄宗泽、胡杏儿等联袂出演。
